Windsor High School and Sixth Form Celebrates a Strong Set of Post-16 Results

Today, students at Windsor High School and Sixth Form are celebrating after receiving their A Level and vocational results. 

The Academy, which is located on Richmond Street and part of Windsor Academy Trust, is pleased to announce another year of strong results achieved by its students as grading nationally returns to pre-pandemic levels.

Windsor High School and Sixth Form achieved over 100 A*-A grades with 50 students gaining at least one A* or A. Subjects that saw particular success included Maths, where 42% of students achieved a grade A* or A grade, as well as 40% of students studying Computer Science. Furthermore, over a third of students studying Chemistry achieved a grade A* or A. In addition, 100% of students studying dance single and double award achieved a grade Distinction* and 77% of students studying Health and Social achieved a Distinction.

In a year where outcomes, nationally, have returned to 2019 levels, the academy’s A level students’ attainment grades, average points score and average grade, matched and exceeded 2019 levels and vocational students’ average grade was a Distinction-. Given some of the disruption seen during the pandemic, students at the academy have matched or bettered their counterparts from 2019. 

Students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen universities, exciting apprenticeships and employment at leading organisations. 

While all students have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

• Ella Baldock successfully achieved A*A A in Psychology, History and Law and has secured her place to study History at University of Durham 
• Hannah Bate successfully achieved A*A A in Psychology, Geography and History and has secured her place at University of Cardiff to study Psychology with a work placement 
• Aya Hameed successfully achieved A* A* A in Religious Studies, Sociology and Graphic Communication and has secured her place at University of Birmingham to study Politics with Sociology
• Tom Forrest successfully achieved  A*A A A in Maths, Biology, Chemistry and Further Maths and has secured his place at University of Birmingham to study Medicine 

Collecting her A Level results today, Ella Baldock said: “I’m so happy that I’m going to Durham and thankful for the support from my teachers with UCAS and my personal statement to help get my place there.”

Hannah Bate said: “It’s been amazing. I’ve had so much fantastic support from my teachers. I’ve really enjoyed my time at Windsor.”

Aya Hameed commented: “I’m very lucky to have enjoyed the support I've been given at Windsor. Teachers worked so hard to help me get the grades and I’m super thankful.”

Tom Forrest said: “The teachers have been incredibly supportive and I’m really grateful to everyone who has been there to help me.”
