Students at Windsor High School celebrate a strong set of results

25th August 2023

Students at Windsor High School and Sixth Form, located on Richmond Street, are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results.

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at Windsor High School and Sixth Form, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results as national grading returns to pre-pandemic levels.

Overall, 180 students reached the government benchmark of achieving grade 9-4 in both English and Maths and over a third of grades achieved for vocational qualifications were at distinction or better.

In addition to our core subjects, courses that saw particular success included Ancient History, Statistics, Business and Enterprise, and in Biology, Chemistry and Physics where nearly a third of students achieved a grade 7 or above.

Windsor High School and Sixth Form students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with many remaining at the school’s Sixth Form to study for A Levels or vocational qualifications.

While all students have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Jacob Colwell who achieved 100% grade 7 and above including five subjects at grade 9.
  • Evie Fisher who achieved 100% grade 7 and above including four subjects at grade 9.
  • Oliver Tillotson who achieved 100% of subjects at grade 7 and above including four subjects at grade 9.

Collecting his GCSE results today, Jacob Colwell, said:

I am elated with my results and would like to pass on my congratulations to all of my friends, and thanks to all the staff who have helped me throughout my time at Windsor. I can’t wait to start at Windsor Sixth Form in September.

Steve Lanckham, Headteacher at Windsor High School and Sixth Form, said:

We are thrilled with yet another set of amazing outcomes for our young people. Congratulations must go to all our students and the staff who have worked tirelessly to secure this success and ensure that all our students progress onto their destinations of choice. We wish them every success for the future. This has yet again been another exceptional year for the school.”

Dawn Haywood, Chief Executive at Windsor Academy Trust, said:

I am delighted to see students from across the Windsor Academy Trust family achieve such strong results in their GCSEs today. I couldn’t be prouder of our students and our staff who have worked so hard for these successes.”
