Eco Club students plant tree for the Queen’s Jubilee

This week, students in the Eco Club planted a tree for the Queen’s Green Canopy (QGC) project. This is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022 which invites people from across the United Kingdom to “Plant a Tree for the Jubilee”.

With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC will encourage planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of The Queen’s leadership of the Nation, which will benefit future generations.

Trees planted are mapped on the Queen’s Green Canopy map of the country, and our tree will be featured very soon. You can have a look at the map here.

The students, from Year 8 and 9, had a great time planting the tree and are looking forward to seeing it grow and flourish over the coming years.
