Year 7 students Q&A

25th November 2024

We interviewed two brilliant Year 7 students today to find out how their first half term has been at Windsor High School and Sixth Form. This is what they had to say:

How has your first term in Year 7 been?

Cassie: It's been really good. At the start I got lost a few times but I always got there in the end. Now I am used to it and know my way perfectly.

Ben: It has been great - I feel at home and I fit in.

What is your favourite lesson and why?

Cassie: PE is my favourite lesson. I am quite an active and sporty person and like doing different sports and working in a team.

Ben: I like PE. I am quite sporty and I like football and rugby.

Do you go to any clubs at lunch for after school?

Cassie: I do quite a lot. I go to the Golf Academy at Hagley Golf Club once a week, I do  Boxercise because it is a good way to keep fit and defend yourself. I also play girls football and hockey. I do something every night apart from Wednesday's.

Ben: On Wednesday's I practise guitar. It is something I started doing in primary school. I have a classical and an acoustic guitar.

What is your best memory so far?

Cassie: I liked helping out at open evening in the English department. I enjoyed telling Year 6 students about Windsor and about my experiences here.

Ben: I have really enjoyed making new friends.

What is your ASPIRE sentence?

Cassie: I aspire to be a resilient lawyer.

Ben: I aspire to be a creative Aeronautical Engineer.

What would be your advice for students starting in Year 7 in September?

Cassie: Don't worry about anything. I thought I would miss primary school, but I prefer secondary school. I came from a one form entry to go to a school that has 10 Year 7 classes which is quite a big jump, but I don't feel it is that big.

Ben: Don't worry about secondary school -  the work isn't that different from Year 6.
