At our Year 9 Options Fair last half term, some of our Windsor Alumni came along to talk to students about their Options choices and what career path they have gone on to since leaving Windsor.
We interviewed Kira Pearce, an ex-Windsor student who is currently working at Jaguar Land Rover as a Human Factors Researcher. Find out more below about her favourite things at Windsor and how she progressed in her career.
When were you a student at Windsor?
I left Windsor Sixth Form in 2018.
Were there any school trips that had special memories for you?
The Battlefields Trip to France.
What was your favourite subject at school and how did it impact you?
Science! It introduced me to a field I absolutely love and decided to pursue a career in.
What advice would you give your 18 year old self now?
Don't panic - there's plenty of time!
What is your current job and what does it involve?
I am a Human Factors Researcher at Jaguar Land Rover. I always have to explain it! My role focuses on how people interact with products, tools, procedures, and any processes likely to be encountered in the modern world.
What advice would you give to a student looking for a career like yours?
Be curious! Connect with other professionals in the industry - there is always something to learn. LinkedIn is amazing and helpful for jobs and advice. Always research the company beforehand, and don't doubt yourself!
If you had to sum up Windsor in one word, what would it be?
Memorable!
Some great memories and advice from Kira, and a really interesting career she has taken on too! Good luck in your future Kira!
