Students in Year 12 and 13 were lucky to have a visit from a PGCE Secondary English Tutor from the University of Worcester last week to deliver a session on supporting our Peer Readers and Aspiring Educators.

Listening to someone with such expertise as the lecturer was truly eye opening. We had a session on guided reading and how to successfully do this with a small group or one on one. She taught us various methods, such as echo reading, which I think students will really like and find useful. It was fascinating to explore different methods and understand the different levels of ability that we will be working with and supporting. Everyone left the session having practised these techniques and feeling prepared to support our students - the ones we are helping now and possibly the ones we will teach in the future.
It was an engaging and useful session - thank to the University of Worcester!
