Students at Windsor High School and Sixth Form in Halesowen Celebrate a Strong Set of GCSE Results

Students at Windsor High School and Sixth Form in Halesowen are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results. 

After much hard work studying and preparing, students at the school, which is part of Windsor Academy Trust, are collecting a set of strong GCSE results and getting ready to take their next steps in their educational journey.

Over 120 students gained grade 5 or better in both English and Maths. We saw exceptional performance across a range of subjects including Graphics, Drama, Religious Studies and Statistics. In technical and vocational courses, students did especially well in Hospitality and Catering where a quarter of our students achieved a Level 2 Distinction*- Level 2 Distinction. 

Windsor High School students are now looking forward to progressing onto their chosen further education institutions, with many remaining at the school’s sixth form to study for A Levels and vocational qualifications. 

While all students have done incredibly well, there are some standout individual achievements. These include:

  • Hannah Luk achieved 7 Grade 9s, 1 Grade 8 and a Distinction 

  • Caitlin Basterfield achieved 7 Grade 9s

  • Hannah Cadman achieved 4 Grade 9s, 3 Grade 8s and 2 Grade 7s

  • Joe Poulding, Head Boy, achieved 3 Grade 9s, 2 Grade 8s and 4 Grade 7s

Collecting GCSE results today, Joe Poulding said:
“It has been a privilege and honour to be Head Boy here at Windsor High School and Sixth Form. I am so grateful for the effort and support the teachers have given me to support me in achieving my grades. This has helped me with my future studies. ”

Hannah Luk said: “I am so happy with my results. I did much better than I thought I would and it has opened up the door for me to study my A-Levels-Further Maths, Maths, Economics and Physics.”

Gavina Raindi, Headteacher at Windsor High School and Sixth Form, said:  “We are incredibly proud of our students and the hard work, resilience and determination they have shown throughout their GCSE journey and are looking forward to many of them continuing their studies into our Sixth Form. These results reflect the significant effort of our students and staff, alongside the many strategies we have put in place to support achievement and progress. I would like to congratulate every student on their achievements and thank our staff, parents and carers for the support they have provided. As a school we remain ambitious for every young person and are already looking ahead to the next cohort with determination and high expectations.”
