Little Women Theatre Trip

A group of our young women had a fantastic afternoon enjoying the play ‘Little Women’ at the Rep Theatre in Birmingham. Students were selected for this experience by their Head of House and they were exemplary representatives of Windsor throughout the visit and it was wonderful that several members of the public praised their engagement and enthusiasm! All the students enjoyed the performance and commented on the impact of the staging, the characterisation of the four sisters as well as moments that resonated with them including the death of Beth, Amy’s marriage to Laurie and Jo’s journey as the protagonist.

Prior to the visit, students have met with Miss Grace and Miss Rauf to explore the plot and share their thoughts on the themes of the story. We have had some fantastic discussions about Jo’s desire for her own independence and freedom from the restrictions placed on women in society, the challenges the March family experiences with their father away at war and the value of sisterhood.
