Get Down and Boogie: Disco Inferno Sets the Stage Ablaze!

7th February 2025

Windsor's stage just got a whole lot hotter! For three electrifying nights, our talented students transported audiences back to the groovy 70s with their spectacular production of Disco Inferno. From shimmering costumes to dazzling dance moves, the show was a non-stop party that left everyone feeling the disco fever.

A staggering 66 students, a mix of actors/singers, dancers and technicians, poured their hearts and souls into bringing this high-energy musical to life. The dedication and hard work were evident in every perfectly executed step, every flawless lighting cue, and every infectious musical number. It was a true testament to the power of teamwork and the incredible talent we have here at Windsor.

Disco Inferno wasn't just a performance; it was an experience. From the moment the show started, the audience was swept up in a whirlwind of vibrant colors, iconic 70s hits, and dynamic choreography. The atmosphere was electric each night, with audiences clapping and singing along.

Kate in Year 13, who played the lead role of Jane, said:

The production is always the highlight of my year! I love making new friends who are now a second family. Disco Inferno was so much fun, I loved every minute of it. Performing alongside such talented students and staff is so exciting and always makes me feel so happy and proud to be part of that experience. Performing live gives me such a rush! This show was the perfect ending to my seven years at Windsor."

A huge congratulations to all the students who participated in Disco Inferno. Your hard work, dedication, and incredible talent shone brightly on stage, and you should all be immensely proud of what you accomplished. A special thanks also goes out to the dedicated teachers and staff who made this production possible. Your guidance and support were instrumental in bringing this disco dream to life.

Mr Jasper, Curriculum Leader for Music, said:

The Performing Arts and Production Team are incredibly proud of our students and the commitment they have shown over the past few months.  Planning for the production began in July 2024, with rehearsals starting in September.  Students have worked incredibly hard preparing for the show, giving up break times, lunch times, hours after school, and even Saturday mornings for rehearsals.  Their hard work paid off and students did an incredible job putting on three evening shows and one afternoon matinee performance for some of our local primary schools. Seeing the friendships and bonds that have been made by students over the past few months and the sheer emotion of students on the closing night of the production makes all the hard work worthwhile; we are incredibly proud of them."

Disco Inferno was a resounding success, a testament to the power of the performing arts to bring people together and create unforgettable memories. We can't wait to see what our talented students will bring to the stage next!
