Future Writers House Competition Winners

In September, we announced a writing competition for future writers organised by Birmingham City University (BCU) in collaboration with Benjamin Zephaniah's family. The theme for the competition was inspired by Benjamin's poem “People Need People.”

Students were invited to submit poems/short stories focusing on their friends, family, peers, and others in their lives and communities with whom they have connections or rely on.

We received a wide range of excellent entries for this competition. Our judges, Ms Grant and Ms Hoban-Rose, thoroughly enjoyed reading all of the original and creative submissions. We extend our gratitude to them for taking the time to evaluate each entry and select the winners.

We are excited to announce our two winners: KS3 Winner: Melissa - KS4 Winner: James.

Both winners will receive House points for their respective Houses, as well as a copy of a book by Benjamin Zephaniah. Our runners-up are Ivy M and Rayan A.
