We were very pleased to welcome highly successful author Chris Bradford into school on 29th June 2023.
His writing career, which began in 2008, is very impressive with 30 books to date. Some of his books are short, dyslexic friendly titles and there are more coming out in the Autumn. His bestsellers are published in over 25 languages and have been nominated for 30 book awards!
Authors always research well for their new books but Chris Bradford takes his job extremely seriously. For his first series of books, 'The Samurai' series, he trained in Samurai swordsmanship, earning his black belt in martial arts.
Chris then embarked on an intensive close-protection course to become a qualified professional bodyguard trained in surveillance, anti-ambush techniques, hostage survival and unarmed combat prior to starting his 'Bodyguard' series.
Renowned for his unique and dynamic performances Year 7 students witnessed an incredible presentation in the hall with interactive readings from ‘The Hostage’, concluding with a Q&A session and book signing.
Finally he spoke to students in the Library about writing techniques to those interested in a career as an author, or as a reward for their dedication to reading.
Thank you to Chris for giving up his time and providing these fantastic sessions!
