Archery at Windsor!

25th February 2026

On Thursday 12th February, we welcomed Mel Clarke to school through our partnership with the Youth Sport Trust.

Mel Clarke is a highly accomplished Paralympic archer who has represented Great Britain on the world stage. She competed at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games and went on to win a silver medal at the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Throughout her career, she has also secured multiple World and European medals and has been ranked world number one in her classification. Mel is widely respected not only for her success in competition but also for her resilience, professionalism and commitment to promoting disability sport.

Our STARS pupils, those who represent their county or higher in their chosen sport, were invited to take part in exclusive sessions with Mel. During these sessions, she shared her inspiring journey, spoke about the realities of life as an elite athlete, and offered valuable advice on the dedication, mindset and work ethic required to reach the top level of sport.

Pupils also had the exciting opportunity to take part in practical archery activities under Mel’s expert guidance, gaining first-hand experience and insight into the technical skill and focus required to compete at an elite level.
